Prom - Red and Black

This pretty young girl wanted a prom dress in her favorite colors.  She found fabric in my stash, including a heavy red satin and a textured novelty fabric - black shiny velveteen roses on a sheer black chiffon.  Up close the red shows through the fabric..Hard to get a picture of it!

We didn't think we'd have enough of the novelty fabric to do something full length, but with it draped just the right way, we were able to get a lot more out of it than we thought we could.  Here's the original PhotoShop "sketch."

This is yet another variation on Vogue 2880 pattern that still gives me nightmares.  Don't know why I keep using it... Ok, because it's really flattering to those with a bit of a tummy, that's why!

We used the fabulous Jenny Rhea Photography Studio again.  She brings her whole set-up to the prom and prints out the photographs while the kids are still there, so they can take their professionally printed  packages home with them that night.  It was really cool!.
Just so people don't get the wrong idea, these were test shots done while they were setting up to make sure the lighting and backgrounds were right.  This model was so patient!
